Tornado!
Downed power lines and trees all around central Minnesota and the local area surrounding Ravensfield Farm, but we were spared from all damage.
Ducks: all present, accounted for and very vocal.
Chickens: wet, windblown and crabby.
Dogs: Unfazed as treats remained available and plentiful.
Indoor Cats: Surprisingly nervous, hyperactive and very much on edge. The folk or faux scientist in me feels it must be the shift in barometric pressure that caused the behavioral change in the cats. Indeed. Cat tail swish alert, move all rocking chairs against the wall!
Outdoor cats: There was a storm?
People: oh so chatty and visit-y about the big storm and what happened and to whom. This is life on the farm, full of small talk, good natured gossip and helping hands after disaster strikes. Check in, check-up calls from the plumber, the handyman and various neighbors.
Neighbors—distant physically but so close when you need them. One of the many upsides of farm life.
